do I want a chinese boyfriend....

yes, this was a frequent question i was asked yesterday at the middle school, and my god it was an experience to say the least and very hard work, its some how physically draining!!! when we arrived at the school they broke the news to us that we will have to stay there one night a week, which turned out to have an up side when we saw the room, its amazing with a view over a beautiful lake!! oh yea i forgot to mention the middle school is in a beautiful location, its got a lake, where to locals fish, and all chinese style architecture on the bridge over the river! Anyway back to the teaching, all the people and students were lovely, although i did get asked some strange questions such as do you want to get married, among other things, it was the most terrifying thing iv ever had to do, 40 super excited teenage students, all waiting for me to walk in the room, i was shaking like mad! The other strange thing is chinese people are generally very shy, but it seems that when they get together in a group, they are not so shy especially the boys! The min i walked through the door, they were going mental, actually scared the hell out of me!!! For this terrifying lesson, i basically just asked them their names, age, where they were from, hobbies, just things like that, which lucky just about filled the lesson.... I had to teach 4 of these lessons so you can imagine how drained i felt after all the nerves... another blow too was when i get back i was told we have had to cut our 2 weeks travelling down to a week and a half, this i wasn't too happy about i have to admit, but hopefully we can do one place in the public holiday in may! Anyway as the other evening we had found something on the chinese menu we would all actually eat, we decided food was in order, and it was amazing, its beef im some sort of sauce with green peppers and chillies mixed in.... AMAZING! Since we arrived we have had a lovely chinese teacher from the school looking after us, her name is Tong Tong, when she isnt working she takes english classes so she improves, so we decided it would be an idea to go to one of her classes with her, where we were asked the question again... are you looking for a chinese boyfriend. Eventually when we had answered a few questions and had a chat with some of the students, the australian english teacher decided he needed some help with the last part of his lesson, which involved tongue twisters, all was going well until Laura got hold of the micro-phone, in which she mistakenly read out the word sit as s**t, i suppose we can thank god that most of the students didn't have a clue what she had said, but it made us laugh, and trust it to be Laura.... ;)! Finally we arrived at the english village after a stop of sight seeing on another very beautiful river, it was sooo strange being in a english bar that sold english alcohol!!! some of the students from the language school also came along which was really good as they got to practise their english with us, and they taught us some chinese (although I don't remember any now) they were all really nice friendly people, had a really good night :)!!!!
